Bronenosec winner of the competition RC44 Puerto Sotogrande CUP in Sotogrande

On Sunday 29, finished the RC44 Cup in the Port of Sotogrande with the final victory of the Russian boat Bronenosec skippered by Slovenian Igor Lah. It has been four intense days of racing in which both amateurs and professionals have enjoyed the sailing sport "It was a show of skill and know-how" was a comment by a lot of to ensure attendees.

The Race Committee was clear that the final day of the RC44 Cup in the  Sotogrande port had to be memorable, thereby taking advantage of the west wind with 12 knots. The first race started at 11am.

During the second race of the day, the wind increased to 18 knots and the Committee forced the fleets to put on jackets. In the third and last race there was a close race between Bronenosec and Peninsula Petroleum. In the end the first one won. The Peninsula Petroleum made ​​a good start, but the situation complicated when they encountered several boats in their way. Fr that reason they lost several positions and Bronenosec took advantage of the situation.


The suspense was kept until the very last moment since until the  last race there was still no clear winner.

The victory went to Bronenosec (Igor Lah), the other Russian team Synergy owned by Valentin Zavadnikov was second but at the same level of points as the  with the Gibraltar Team Peninsula Petroleum of John Bassadone, who finished third in the ranking.

Many members of the winning team were able to celebrate their victory on the terrace of the Hotel Club Marítimo de Sotogrande where a lot of them were all staying.

The next race will take place from 13 to 17 August in the Swedish waters of Marstrand and the championship will end with the 5th test in Oman in mid-November.
