Hiking is one of the most popular activities in Castellar de la Frontera, a sport in which you can enjoy nature at its best

Tis beautiful White village is just 25 kilometres from Sotogrande and located in the Natural Park of the “Alcornocales”. Castellar de la Frontera is built on rocks and has a magnificent castle overlooking the Bay and the Rock of Gibraltar.

It is full of beauty and history, that surprises everyone who discovers it. A place with history in spectacular surroundings.

Different paths take you through the park, where you can enjoy bird watching. You will most probably come across kestrels, hawks or vultures and you will also see multiple wildlife in this beautiful spot.

The most outstanding hiking routes are “La Calzada to Dehesa Boyal” and is  nearly 4 kilometres, the path of the Teja which is not to hard to do.

The route of La Calzada to la Dehesa Boyal is taking you directly to the fortress and its nearby archaeological site allows you to enjoy the beautiful views of the site where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea and at the very top you can enjoy the wonderful views of two continents and one of the best preserved medieval towns of Andalusia.
